Scofflaw Cocktail

Scofflaw was a term coined by a US prohibitionist who held a contest to coin a new term describing a lawless drinker. That same year, an American bar in Paris, France named this cocktail the Scofflaw. Originally made with whiskey, the American-preferred spirit pre-prohibition, I include a vodka and whiskey recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Vodka  OR Bourbon

  • 1 oz Blanc Vermouth

  • .25 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice

  • 2 dashes of orange bitters

  • .5 oz Siloam Syrups, Persephone

Instructions

  • Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker half filled with ice, and shake until well chilled

  • Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist, expressing the lemon peel over the glass before you garnish the cocktail
