Next Level Box Cake
Simple syrups are used in the baking industry to keep cakes moist, this is especially handy when making cakes in advance as they can quickly lose moisture after baking; you can also use simple syrups to save a slightly overbaked cake. Siloam Syrups can be used for this same technique, and you’ll have the chance to impart a delicious flavor to your cake as well.
Baking Your Cake
Using your favorite boxed cake, take a look at the recommended ad in’s on the back of the box, and follow the following substitutions.
use an additional 2 eggs
use melted butter in place of oil
use milk in place of water (this isn’t 100% necessary)
add one teaspoon of vanilla
Once the cake is completely cool, and before you add frosting, mix the below syrup recipe and evenly distribute the syrup over the top of the cake using a spoon or a squeeze bottle.
Siloam Syrups Simple Baking Syrup
2 parts Siloam Syrup to 1 part warm water and mix well
pour into a squeeze bottle or use a bowl and spoon to evenly distribute on top of the cake
